Portishead - Simple machine GunOn first-class honours degree take heed, Machine Gas pedal makes for an unforgiving introduction to Third base, Portishead's first gear studio album in 11 long time. She sings of saviours, sacrifice and remedies for a poisoned gist, piece Teutonic keyboards swell into the foreground, and Machine Gun emerges from its punishing introduction to become a beguiling piece of work.
